Binzer Strandpromenade mit Blick auf Seebrücke im Frühling - Pension Anker, Rügen

Rügen in spring

In spring, nature awakens and everything begins to bloom and green. Hardly any other coastal region in Germany offers such a variety of natural beauty and landscapes on such a small area as Rügen. Not only the coastal landscapes with the chalk cliffs, cliffs or sandy beaches offer variety, but also extensive Bodden landscapes or the interior of the island with forests and nature reserves.
Spring is the season to explore Rügen and try the many recreational opportunities. The avenue roads are still sunny and give an idea of how dense this green 'roof' is in summer. A visit to the Jasmund National Park is especially worthwhile. For example, hike along the steep coast from Sellin to Binz (about 3 hours). This tour is particularly scenic and can be combined on the outward journey with a boat trip from the Binz to Sellin pier or a ride on the Rasenden Roland, the steam train on Rügen.
