Rügen in autumn
The sea heated up in the summer months influences the climate on Rügen until late in the fall and winter. This leads to the fact that it can still be pleasantly warm during the day even in October. Autumn is the season for hiking on Rügen. Enjoy the fresh and clear Baltic Sea air on the empty Baltic Sea beaches or along the steep coast at the Binzer fishing beach. Or explore the island on the numerous bike paths along the Baltic Sea resorts. A ride on the 'Rasenden Roland', the famous Rügen steam train, through the dazzling beech forests of the Granitz, are a particularly colorful experience. On beautiful sunny days the blue sky, combined with the water of the Baltic Sea is a beautiful contrast to the golden autumn forests.
If you play tennis then it is best to make an appointment at the Binzer tennis court only 5 min. walk from the Pension ANKER. Golfers will also get their money's worth with a visit to the golf courses on Rügen.
Autumn is also the time to turn your attention to the other sights and recreational opportunities on Rügen. Drive across the island and visit the many churches and castles on Rügen. A visit is worthwhile because in addition to the cultural information, especially in the castles for food and drink is provided in affiliated restaurants and inns.
